Sustainable Steel Community Cohort

Learn more and apply to the Sustainable Steel Community Cohort.

What is the Sustainable Steel Community Cohort?

The SSCC aims to support the steel industry by helping bring the benefits of sustainable steel to NW Indiana and increasing good-paying union jobs. Upgrading plants takes community support, investment, and advocacy.

By combining political education and storytelling, participants will develop a vision for how to grow the local economy, protect worker health, and address industrial impacts on land, water, air, and community health.

Who should apply for the cohort?

Are you interested in learning more about how steel is made today and sustainable practices?

Do you believe steelworkers deserve healthy workplaces and communities near mills deserve clean air and water?

Do you live in Lake County, Porter County, or the surrounding areas that are impacted by the steel industry?

Are you ready to make your voice heard?

Then apply today!

Together, we can build the steel industry of tomorrow.
